Packed with Features

They make themes better

Widgets

The Dottoro Theme comes with a number of useful widgets in addition to the ones standard in WordPress. Since our goal was to provide an extremely flexible theme for our users, we improved the standard WordPress widgets as well. Thus, in the Theme Editor you will find Dottoro's versions of the standard WordPress widgets equipped with much more customizing options than the original ones. In list-type widgets you can define the types and colors of list icons, you can set the post types in post-widgets, and so on.

12 extra Widgets

The theme comes with 12 additional widgets and several improved WordPress widgets. The additional widgets are fully developed by Dottoro, while others are extensions of standard WordPress widgets. This widgets can be accessed with shortcodes, enabling you to place your widgets in the content as well, not just the sidebar and the footer. This is only a convenience feature, for with the Widget Area Wizard you can create as many widget areas as you want and publish them anywhere with the [widget_area] shortcode.

Icon and skin support

Most of the Dottoro widgets have icon and skin support - for list-type widgets you can set list icons, for Tab widgets you can customize the appearance of tabs. Every widget that supports skins has an 'auto' option. By setting the widgets to auto-skin, they will automatically be displayed with the skin you defined in the Theme Editor. In the Theme Editor you can set default widget skins for every region of pages (subheader, content, sidebar and footer). It is advised to use the widgets in auto-skin mode because if you activate a new skin of your website, the change will automatically be applied to the auto-skin widgets as well, whereas widgets with manual-skin would not match the new design.

Post type support

Dottoro Theme provides full post type support affecting widgets as well. In most of the widgets you can choose according to which post type to display them but you can also set them to 'auto' mode or simply make them post type independent. For instance for the Recent Post widget you can set whether it should display blog-, news- or portfolio-type posts or simply make it post type independent. If you set it to 'auto' mode, it will display the content according to the post type of the current page.

Widget areas

Dottoro Theme provides pre-defined widget areas created to meet the most frequent needs. By applying them you can put widgets onto your sidebar, footer and contents. You can also create as many custom widget areas as you want so you can fully personalize your theme. Inside a widget area you can define the layout of all of your widgets and you can set custom widget areas on the sidebars and footers of all pages which puts you in full charge of the appearance of your sidebars and footers. In case you want to insert widget areas in your subheaders and content you will have to use the [widget_area] shortcode. Having the possibility to set all these options for yourself you can have page-dependent widgets in all regions of the page - the sidebar, footer, subheader and the content as well.
