Along with the standard blog post type Dottoro Theme supports news and portfolio post types as well.
WordPress 3 has introduced post types, so one could display on his pages different types of content separated from each other. To take full advantage of this feature, along with the main type - Post - Dottoro Theme provides two further post types: Portfolio and News.
To help you display your tag and category pages separated for all three post types, tags and categories are also made post type dependent. You can assign a different permalink structure to every post type, making the types which your contents belong to visible in the URLs of your website. Some of the widgets also support post types; e.g. for the Recent Posts widget you can set the desired post type, but you can also set it to post type independent mode.
The settings options for all post types are separated on the admin panel as well in the Posts, News and Portfolio boxes. Posts, categories and tags for all three post types can be managed in the very same way. There are various setting options for every post type. Some of them are located under Posts » Post Settings / News » News Settings / Portfolio » Portfolio Settings and there are options for individual pages and posts as well.
General Settings | |
---|---|
Page Priority | This setting is available only if there are more than one post list pages. Here you can set the priority of your post list pages; the first one will have the highest priority. The appearance of date and tag pages is based on the settings of the post list page with the highest priority. For a category page, the appearance is based on the settings of the post list page that has the highest priority and matches the category. |
Add post type RSS | In the Dottoro Theme you can use both post type dependent and post type independent RSS feeds. Post type-independent RSS feeds contain posts from all three kinds of post types, while post type dependent feeds contain only posts from a certain post type. You can decide for every post type what RSS subscription options you would like to grant your visitors. |
